Who we are

The Ukrainian Cultural Student Association (UCSA) is the University of Waterloo’s hub for Ukrainian culture, creativity, and community. Open to students of all backgrounds, the club invites you to explore Ukraine beyond the headlines through immersive cultural experiences centered around food, music, art, language, and traditions.
From learning how to write your name in Ukrainian and discovering influential Ukrainian artists and musicians, to exploring traditional cultural dress and participating in hands-on cooking workshops featuring iconic Ukrainian dishes, the Ukrainian Cultural Student Association offers engaging, fun, accessible events that make cultural learning both social and enjoyable. Whether you’re reconnecting with your heritage or discovering Ukrainian culture for the first time, there’s always something new to learn and experience.
Beyond cultural programming, this club is also committed to meaningful community engagement and global awareness. The Ukrainian Cultural Student Association organizes humanitarian initiatives, including medical supply drives, to support civilians and communities affected by the ongoing war in Ukraine.
Through these efforts, the Ukrainian Cultural Student Association strives to create a welcoming and inclusive space that fosters cultural appreciation, connection, compassion, and global awareness, all whilst contributing something truly unique to campus life at the University of Waterloo.
