University of Waterloo GlamourGals is a student-run club that brings together University of Waterloo students who are passionate about community, connection, and making a meaningful difference. Our mission is to bridge the intergenerational gap by building genuine relationships between students and older adults in the Kitchener-Waterloo community. We partner directly with local long-term care homes to combat social isolation by creating welcoming spaces where residents and volunteers can connect through conversation, companionship, and shared activities.

Members take part in organized visits to long-term care facilities, where they engage in one-on-one and small-group conversations, host intergenerational game afternoons, and offer complimentary beauty makeovers and manicures that promote confidence, dignity, and self-expression. Beyond visits, GlamourGals holds regular meetings for training, reflection, and event planning, as well as creative initiatives like arts and crafts sessions, handmade cards, and holiday care kits. GlamourGals hopes to offer a supportive, inclusive space for students to build leadership skills, deepen their understanding of aging and health, and create lasting connections, on campus and beyond!
