Who We Are
UW Public Speaking Club is a club at the University of Waterloo dedicated to helping students, staff, and faculty build confidence and master the essential skills of communication and leadership. Our goal is to empower our members, equipping them with stronger communication abilities and the self-assurance to lead and make a significant impact in any professional setting. We are an inclusive and welcoming community for all members of the UW community.
How We Accomplish This
We provide a platform for personal and professional growth through a variety of engaging and practical events. Our members gain hands-on experience and valuable insights through our core activities, which include:
- Workshops & Seminars: Interactive sessions focused on developing specific skills in public speaking and persuasive communication.
- Panels: Q&A sessions and discussions with industry professionals, experienced leaders, and faculty who share their expertise and career journeys.
- Case Competitions: Opportunities for members to apply their skills in realistic scenarios, competing to solve real-world challenges.
- Networking Events: Casual and structured events designed to connect members with each other, alumni, and professionals from various fields.
Membership & Meetings
Membership in UW Public Speaking is free and open to all University of Waterloo undergraduate students, graduate students, staff, and faculty.
