WiSTEM (Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) was founded in Spring 2013 by UW students who want to promote equality in STEM disciplines. Although we focus on the issue of gender imbalance, we encourage both males and females, grads and undergrads, and anyone with a connection to STEM to participate. oSTEM @ UWaterloo is the UWaterloo chapter of oSTEM, an international organization focused on LGBTQ+ people in STEM. We are a safe space for queer STEM students and allies to connect with peers and mentors and participate in events relating to queerness in STEM.
